Garlic Bread

Serves 4

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2-3/4 cups flour

Topping

  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/6 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 medium or 3 small cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Add water to a bowl and sprinkle in yeast and sugar. Let stand for a few minutes.
  2. Mix in the rest of the ingredients, adding flour gradually.
  3. Knead for several minutes until smooth and slightly sticky.
  4. Mix all topping ingredients.
  5. Cut dough into small pieces and shape into dough balls.
  6. Dip each into butter mixture and place into a round cake pan or a bread pan.
  7. Cover and let stand for an hour.
  8. Preheat oven to 180°C and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Brush lightly with butter and sprinkle some salt.
