It really feels epic to be standing on these grounds! Images of pyramids, depicted in history and ingrained in our imaginations since childhood, finally materialising right in front of me feels like a surreal moment.
The amazing thing about monuments like these is how connected they make us feel to the people that were there in ancient times. Touching the very same pieces of stone carved and transported by human hands 5000 years ago is a really humbling experience.

The Great Pyramid Khufu and the Pyramid of Khafre | Khufu pyramid stones | The tip of Khafre pyramid still retains the limestone casing
The only one of the original Seven Wonders still standing is the Great Pyramid of Giza. And what a sight! It is truly impressive. And a gigantic creature - each of the individual stone blocks is 1 - 1.5 meters in height.
The most unique however is the Pyramid of Khafre, as it still retains the limestone casing at the very top.
The smallest one of the three is the Menkaure pyramid. It may seem unimpressive in comparison, but it was once a very striking sight, with the bottom 20 meters coated in pink granite and the rest in white limestone.
